38. fixing aggresive behaviorFrom: msspiffy@webtv.net 38.1. CommentsI bought Tootie from a pet shop and I did not see the parents but was assured that she would not get over 75 pounds (LOL) I was trying to point out some of the behaviors and bad sides to ownership. As with any animal they are a big responsibility. In the area that I live there are pig farms which took in unwanted potbellies. They became so overrun that they cannot take anymore. People get them because they are so cute at 5 pounds and then when things like I described happen they want to get rid of them. I don't keep Tootie confined and luckily I have a safe, large area for her. The most important thing to know about pigs is that they must always know who is "Top Hog" (moi). They may be very intelligent but they are still animals and as such you have to understand their behavior from that point and not from a human point. I still stand by my original comments and knowing what I know now, and in hindsight, I would not have gotten a pig for a pet. Just be sure that you really are ready to put up with some of the stuff and assume the years of responsibiliity before bringing home that "cute little pig" |
