I have had a pot-bellied for several years. Tootie is her name. Although I love Tootie I would not recommend to anyone to get a pig. First, they are little and cute and then as they get older (and bigger) it is a problem. Tootie totally destroyed my kitchen floor (rooted up the carpet) The yard now is a mess from where she walks and has tromped the grass to nothing. She is very protective of the home and I have to watch that she doesn't attack people (with little warning) She is cranky and hard to get along with. But - I got her and feel responsible for her so she can stay here until her time to go comes. Thanks heavens I live on 10 acres and in the woods. They also poop A LOT and the weekly chore produces a grocery paper bag full of the "stuff". You can forget flowers as they will root them up too. I did watch her diet and she still got around 200 pounds. I don't know how people keep these pigs in their houses. If I had known what I know now I would not have gotten a pig.
