471. Re: PedigreeFrom: tobin@shorenet.net 471.1. CommentsIt's good to hear from people that have pigs and accept them as pigs. I gave my potbellied pig a choice and she definately wanted to stay outside. I let her root up the yard and wallow in the mud in the summertime, she also sneaks in the garden when noone's looking. She's so happy her tail almost curls:) It bothers me that people continue to breed animals when the shelters are full of loving pets that need a home but never get one. Shelters aren't able to find homes for grown pot bellied pigs and the rescues are filled to capacity. I took these three pigs in to save their lives, plus, I love pigs. Every day I see people get rid of their PETS because they aren't cute and fluffy anymore. I'm one of their dumping spots. I can see that breeding would be a source of a good income but there are a lot of unwanted pigs that are in need of a good home without breeding more babies. Sure the babies are cute but if you can't love a grown one you're going to be in for a big surprise because they don't stay piglets very long. Maybe the breeders should at least spay/neuter them before adopting them out. |
