Education of those looking to adopt a potbellied pig is vital! People need to be aware of the maintenance and medical necessities of these animals. The key is start everything at a fairly early age and get them used to their nails being trimmed/filed, get them used to the car, and the vet, and the harness and leash, and the bath, etc. and always include food as their reward. Believe me, you don't want to end up with a 150+ lb pig who dislikes these things. These animals need MUCH more time, effort and attention than do other domestic pets.
