20. Re: ChewingFrom: Michelle 20.1. CommentsPlease contact Richard Hoyle at rhoyle@minipigs.org and see if he can't help you. He and his wife run a sanctuary in Virginia and are very knowledgeable about these animals. Does you piggie use her litter box at all? If not, she might not like the litter itself. Some people use wood shavings or other materials, rather than cat litter. Don't know what material you're using, but that could be the problem. Also, is your litter box large enough for your pig? If it's too small, she might not want to get into it. Clean her blankets and other areas where she urinates with a solution of white vinegar and water to get rid of the smell. As far as the chewing goes, is your pig confined to a room while you're away at work? If so, you might be better off putting her in an area outdoors, where she can root in the dirt and do other "pig" things. She might just be bored and so is tearing things up out of frustration, which isn't good for a pig. Also, you should consider getting her a pig companion. Pigs are herd animals, and are happiest in the company of other pigs. Good Luck, Michelle [../../_private/disc1_aftr.htm] |
