I saved a pig...or, actually, I'm pretty sure it's a baby wild boar. I live in the jungle on the windward side of Oahu, Hawaii, and we have wild boars all over...well, this baby pig wandered into our yard and he was weak and dirty. We believe his family abandoned him...he has a few scrapes on his hind leg and I think he has lice. I don't touch him with my bare hands, don't worry. He's a little thing...the size of a teenageish kitten...I fed him some soymilk and he gulped down some cut up mangos. He improved a lot, he's alert and able to walk around now but I'm not sure what to do with him or how to care for him...

Does anyone happen to know if I should try to get rid of the lice? I gave him a bath with mild soap and that made a huge difference. I'm not sure what to feed him...he loves the mangos. I'm pretty sure that's what the boars eat out here. Can I put something on his scrapes to help? It's nothing deep but I don't want them to get infected. He's scared of everyone except me...and he seems pretty healthy now that he's eating. Should I nourish him and then let him go in the wild? I know this is a pot belly pig forum but the only info I could find on wild boars was about hunting them and as a strict Vegan I don't think I need info on hunting anything...

If anyone can offer any suggestions I'd be very greatful. And so would the pig.

:)
