Give yourself a week or more of daily interactions 1-2 minutes to build trust and inderstanding (1) start slowly massaging your potbellied pig's feet for the first few times and give treats. (2) get a hoof rasp and try it a few strokes -- then food. (3) you can use clippers for the dewclaws and sometimes even for the main hooves themselves --provided its a powerful clippers (good lawn & garden snips work well actually).

Remember patience, food, patience, food.

Watch out not to cut too close or you will have a bloody mess (literally).

to timothy/how much do potbellied pig cost? females generally cost slightly more than males. I live in ellis county (south of dallas texas) I charge 35.00 for female, 30. for males. I do get generous from time to time, like now, i have 4 young white males i'm willing to give away due to illness in my family. hope this helps you. phyllis
